A repeat successful medical product innovator, Niall has a range of executive experience in large corporations as well as startups.

He has done and led all aspects of product development including: developing customer insight, strategic marketing, engineering, FDA clearance, created compelling investment proposals and lead project execution.

Niall set Becton Dickinson on the path to a $200MM safety needle business.  Along the way he redefined how BD gained customer insight, managed IP, and led product development teams.  At BD’s diabetes business he took on a combined R&D and Marketing role and retrieved BD’s insulin pen by successfully developing and relaunching an innovative pen.

At Quest Diagnostics he figured out ways to commercialize the value inherent in Quest’s extensive data base of lab test results and physician connectivity. This moved the small embryonic venture from being a cost center to a profit center.

At Stryker he doubled the size of the spine division’s US development group and over 3 years launched 9 implant systems which generated $57MM incremental revenue winning 3 successive corporate awards.  In the dental market he delivered Dentsply’s first cordless endodontic hand piece exceeding sales expectations and winning a corporate award.  He also introduced the world’s most powerful air drill, winning industry awards.

He has worked with a number of teams to de risk medical technology, establish a company and obtain both grant and investor funding, and has been a CEO and a management member of several early stage start-ups.

Niall is an early stage investor and active member of several angle groups. He also assists Maryland Technology Development Corporation TEDCOevaluating funding for early life science start-ups.
